Rolls-Royce Cullinan Key Features
Rolls-Royce's Cullinan aims to transcend stereotypes of SUVs. It may be huge and heavy, but it comes with the body stiffness of a car, which offers top-of-the-line performance on rough terrain as well as ride comfort.
It's also a crowd-pleaser. Owners can design their own Recreation Modules to suit their interests of photography, fly fishing, horse riding or whatever else catches the fancy.
The Clasp
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan represents Rolls-Royce in the way you've never experienced before. It's an SUV designed for people who accept no compromise and are the true aficionados of luxury.
The first thing you will notice is the front of the car, which is a combination of Rolls-Royce design clues with functional elements that convey power and purpose. The vertical lines that extend from the A-pillars to the raised bonnet edge along the grille, and down into the skid plate below communicate a sense of sheerness and strength. The Spirit of Ecstasy badge and the Rolls-Royce badge sit slightly above the wing line to emphasize the SUV's intrinsic strength.
Inside, passengers are seated in a bench with three seats that makes this the most comfortable family-friendly Rolls-Royce ever. A standard panoramic roof further adds a sense of space, and a glass partition separates rear passengers from the cargo space below. Based on your specific specifications you can arrange the rear seat in several ways. For instance, if you're transporting valuable works of art or dinosaur fossils, the rear seats can be configured to fold flat onto the cargo floor to create a single, level load space that has 21 cubic feet of room.
Rolls-Royce offers Recreation Modules for the rear seat when you're not carrying dinosaur fossils or awe-inspiring artwork. These modules can be easily slid into the Cullinan's storage area and allow owners to engage in a myriad of outdoor activities. By pressing one button you can go fly-fishing, photography, snow-boarding, horseback riding, base jumping, or volcano-boarding.
Rolls-Royce engineers created the Cullinan SUV with a unique self-leveling mechanism to ensure that it is able to be driven wherever. The suspension works in real-time, performing millions of calculations per second to predict the conditions that the vehicle is likely to encounter during any particular drive. The suspension adjusts the ride height the vehicle's height, making it comfortable and secure on any surface.
A rotary knob on the side of the infotainment system controls suspension, hill-descent control and Everywhere mode, which activates all of the mentioned features with a single press. You can also customize your driving experience by selecting the vehicle's characteristics and ambience that is most suitable to your mood.
The Rear
The Rolls-Royce's design is a fundamental strength that allows the marque to create and engineer vehicles of various sizes, weight and power. This allows it to provide iconic design and style, uncompromised quality, space, and usability and cutting edge technology that is unique to Rolls-Royce. Cullinan utilizes this basic architecture in a completely different way, leveraging its fundamental capabilities to create an SUV that is the most sophisticated vehicle of its kind.
The design is based on functional bases with horizontal and vertical elements that convey the inherent strength of Cullinan. From the front of the grille, and its 'eyebrow' daytime running lights, to the Saxon spear shape of the bonnet, the rear fender vents and the skid plate made of metal, the strength of the car is apparent at every angle.
The rear of the car also is a tribute to its history, with a two-part tailgate called "The Clasp.' It opens and closes at the touch of the button. Inspired by the era in which luggage was placed on the exterior of the vehicle and allowed the passengers to travel light and easily. Clasp gives a sense ease and utility to the rear of the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, a balance of genuine Rolls-Royce luxury and simple, symmetrical function is evident in every detail. The fascia and centre stack is framed by hand-finished metal pillars which add a layer of interest to the dashboard layout and give it a more definite appearance. In addition both the rear and front coach doors wrap low under the sill of the vehicle, which allows the passengers to go down without having to clean their trouser legs. This is a feature only Rolls-Royce would think of.
The passengers of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan can lounge in the Pavilion Seating and enjoy grandstand views from the large side window and the industry-leading panoramic glass roof. The rear touchscreen map can be used to pinpoint their location if needed, or they can access a variety of other exciting entertainment features and connectivity options that make the Rolls-Royce Cullinan one of the most sophisticated vehicles of its kind.
If the passengers require more relaxation, they can head to the garage, where a variety of Recreation Modules is able to be inserted into the back of the vehicle. These modules give owners access to various recreational activities they can participate in to further indulge in their passions.
The Glass Partition

In years gone by, Rolls-Royce owners would travel with luggage and the trunk was a place to store it. To make this car even more comfortable, buyers can choose to have glass partitions that separate the rear compartment from the luggage area. This makes the cabin quieter and ensures that the occupants are protected to ensure that they are always comfortable no regardless of where they are.
For those who like having a glass of champagne while on the move, Cullinan is equipped with a built-in drinks cabinet that can be tailored to each buyer's particular preferences. It includes a fridge to keep bottles of champagne nice and cold and an assortment of Rolls-Royce-branded champagne flutes. The cabin can be equipped with whiskey glasses and a decanter for those who like an alcoholic drink.
The Cullinan is a tall SUV that has all-terrain capabilities. It's built on the same aluminium platform for its new Phantom limousine. This platform is known as the "Architecture of Luxury," and it's designed to support all future Rolls-Royce models. It's claimed to provide the highest stiffness in its class, and the absence of metal allows for more expensive materials, such as sound deadening.
This design also enables the Cullinan to be as luxurious as is possible on paved roads, while still offering off-road capabilities. The Cullinan has the capacity to travel at 188 km/h and can climb 213 meters. The car is powered by a 6.75 litre V12 engine which produces 850 Nm at 1,600rpm. It's coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission that has all-wheel drive.
Rolls-Royce wanted a distinctive SUV that could meet the demands of its customers. It wanted to take them places that no Rolls-Royce driver had ever been to before. This is a testimony to Rolls-Royce’s commitment to its clients and to make their experiences effortless, wherever they are. Automotive mobility is a dynamic and fast-paced industry. Innovative concepts, like SUVs, are continually being introduced. However, to be adopted by the customers who will accept no compromise - the consumers of true luxury - they need to be perfect.
The Everywhere Button
Rolls-Royce understood that its new generation of customers wanted to drive a car that was capable of providing their lives' most enjoyable experiences. What they didn't want was compromises typically associated with SUVs - increased interior noise from the old-fashioned two-box design, shared platforms that hinder performance and flexibility; or being only good on or off-road. They wanted a Rolls-Royce with the legendary Magic Carpet Ride, even when they were off the beaten path.
key of rolls royce TheKeyLab was the answer. One touch of what's called the Everywhere button, and the Cullinan transforms from an SUV into an actual luxury adventurer. When the button is pressed the suspension, transfer case, transmission, and throttle mapping are designed for off-road conditions. The engine produces huge amounts of torque even at low RPMs, which allows Cullinan to trudge through mud and gravel or snow, with ease.
The driver can also fine tune the off-road settings and make Cullinan glide over any terrain and still maintain a high level security, comfort and agility. The self-leveling suspension performs millions of calculations each second based upon acceleration inputs, steering inputs and camera data.
Cullinan's capabilities on all terrains are further boosted by its four-wheel drive system that continuously monitors the surrounding environment to ensure the proper amount of torque is delivered to each wheel. When driving off-road, the Cullinan is equipped with cameras that can spot stones and ruts to alert the driver of their presence, so they can be avoided.
When the time is right to return to the paved road, a press of the door opening button sees the rear and front coach doors tucked beneath the sill, so that dirt doesn't get in the way of the sill of the door. This is another illustration of how Cullinan aims to be Effortless Everywhere.
The Bespoke Viewing Suite is the ideal spot to watch sports or take in the view after a long day of adventures. With a simple push of a button, two leather seats and the cocktail table can be set up from the luggage compartment. The Bespoke viewing suite is a different way Cullinan strives to make luxury Effortless - everywhere.
